FAQ

What are brewer's grains?

Brewer's grains refer to a mixture of dried grains used in the first step of the beer brewing process. These grains are mostly barley, but depending on the beer, can also include smaller amounts of oats, wheat, millet, rye, rice, and even potatoes!

How do you use brewer's grains to make Calvin's Craft Cookies?

First, let's talk a little about how beer is made.

To make beer, the brewer's grains are soaked in water to extract sugar - this sugary liquid will be used later in the fermentation process to make alcohol. After the liquid is drained, the grains are discarded, and the beer brewing process continues.

We take those grains, which are full of protein, fiber, and other awesome nutrients, and use them to make Calvin's Craft Cookies!

Are grains good for dogs?

Grains are an excellent source of fiber, protein, and carbohydrates, contributing to a well-balanced diet for your pup. However, there are some cases where dogs may have allergies or sensitivities to certain grains. Ask your veterinarian if you are unsure whether our treats are right for your dog.

Do your dog treats contain any meat or poultry?

We do not use any meat or poultry products in our treats - ever.

Many food allergies are attributed to the protein source in a dog's food or treats (beef, chicken, pork, etc), which is why we decided to make Calvin's Craft Cookies without any of those ingredients.

What is the shelf life of Calvin's Craft Cookies?

Our treats are good for at least 6 months unopened and for at least 2 months opened, but be sure to store them properly - covered and in a cool, dark place, like your pantry or kitchen cabinet.

Make sure to grab a reusable lid to reseal your pup's can of Craft Cookies to keep them nice and fresh!
